The President of the AEDIDH was invited by UBUNTU (social network of NGOs) to introduce the Luarca Declaration to a group of specialists from different scientific disciplines. He was accompanied by Prof. Josep Xercavins (Director UBUNTU and one of the drafters of the Luarca Declaration on the Human Right to Peace), and Estel.la Pareja (permanent representative of the AEDIDH in Catalonia).
Mr. Villan referred to the work done by the AEDIDH for the recognition of the human right to peace both in Spain and in the international arena. He explained the contents of the Luaca Declaration and the international campaign on the human right to peace carried out by the AEDIDH with the support from 100 other NGOs. He indicated that this campaign will finish in 2010 with the organization in Geneva of a large World NGO Conference on the human right to peace, which will adopt a final declaration on the human right to peace to be submitted to the Human Rights Council of the United Nations.
