A course dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the UDHR was organized jointly with the  University of Murcia and Amnesty International of Spain at the 2008 Summer Course of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena on 9-11 July 2008.

Upon the moderation of the Professor Esperanza Orihuela Calatayud (Professor of International Law and Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Murcia), the President of the AEDIDH was invited to develop a presentation on the UDHR and the emerging human rights, particularly the human right to peace.

He also participated in a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Paul Heras Source (member of the Working Group on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of Amnesty International of Spain) on "The challenge of fighting poverty as the source and result of violations of human rights". The President of the AEDIDH stressed the importance of the enjoyment of economic, social and cultural rights to eradicate extreme poverty and achieve the enjoyment of the human right to peace.
