EThe event was chaired by Mr. Jose Antonio Gimbernat, President of the federation of Defense and Promotion of Human Rights in Spain, and was attended by Mr. Emilio Ginés Santidrián, coordinator of the Human Rights Department of the Movement for Peace, Disarmament and Liberty (Madrid) and member of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (Strasbourg), Mr. Faúndez Hector Ledesma, director of the Human Rights Centre of the Central University of Venezuela (Caracas), Mr. Rafael Fraile, representative of the Human Rights Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, Mr. Federico Mayor, President of the Foundation Culture of Peace, Mr. Villán Carlos Duran, President of the AEDIDH and Mr. Cristian Velasco, representative of Madu Editions.
The ceremony was followed by a large audience who applauded generously to all the speakers. The speakers commented from different angles that the book had a highly scientific quality and saluted the valuable initiative of the AEDIDH and NGO partners for the international recognition of the human right to peace. All these NGOs joined the campaign and offered their support.

The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation congratulated the AEDIDH for their work in favour of the human right to peace and expressed the sympathy of the Ministry for this initiative, which accompanies the developmental phase. In particular, he announced that his office will support the realization of an expert meeting on the human right to peace in Dakar, Senegal, in April 2008.
